Jairo is an Ford Foundation Fellow NSF ARMS (Accessibility, Rehabilitation, and Movement Science) trainee, GEM full fellow, and Goizueta Foundation fellow in the Robotics PhD program. He is interested in developing intent recognition algorithms that enable the seamless control of lower-limb prostheses. He aims to pursue a career focused on improving the quality-of-life of persons with disabilities.
Outside of the lab, Jairo enjoys playing the beautiful game of futbol and promoting diversity in STEM through outreach.
